Is it necessary to apply a primer?

Is only one coat required?

Unfortunately no! While some companies promote 2-in-1 paint with built-in primer, two in one doesn't mean quite a single coat. It just means better grip and hiding power, which is good if you want, for example, to go from navy to light gray.

You should know that the roller remains an important part of the equation for a Painting Contractor. At first glance or in a photo, the result looks perfect, however as the roller leaves what is called micro spaces, there will be spaces left that will not have paint after the first coat.
